The discerning collector understands that they can own a masterpiece created at a human scale.
— Tiffany Dubin

Tiffany Dubin’s expertise resides at the intersection of art, fashion, and jewelry. She embarked on her journey with Sotheby’s as an intern in the Impressionist department in 1982 and has dedicated three decades to the dynamic world of auctions.

Tiffany innovated a fresh genre at Sotheby’s, nestled within New York’s Fine Art division, where she breathed life into wearable art. An array of eminent Modern Master’s from the 20th century, spanning Bauhaus, Surrealist, Cubist, and Contemporary eras, rose to the challenge of transforming their art into miniature sculptures. This endeavor marked the pinnacle of creative exploration. Notably, her recent accomplishment was spearheading Sotheby’s inaugural auction ‘Art as Jewelry as Art,’ an embodiment of the current zeitgeist that transcends traditional collecting boundaries.

Educated at Georgetown, Tiffany graduated with a BFA in International Relations and deepened her knowledge by studying ‘Appraising Fine & Decorative Arts’ at NYU. She commenced her career as an associate curator for the US State Department’s Art in Embassy Program, a role that paved her path to Sotheby’s as a Client Advisor.

Tiffany’s trajectory continued as she became the founding director of Sotheby’s Fashion department, orchestrating auctions dedicated to twentieth-century design and fashion. These multidimensional showcases explored couture, ready-to-wear, photography, illustration, and a spectrum of accessories.

Stepping outside Sotheby’s, Tiffany embarked on her entrepreneurial journey, establishing “Tiffany Dubin’s Lair” at New York City’s iconic Henri Bendel’s department store.

Returning to Sotheby’s Private Client Group as a Business Development Director, she extended her expertise to cater to private clients, infusing artistry into personalized services.

Tiffany’s is a USPAP Compliant Appraiser and fluent in French. Presently, she’s immersing herself in the study of becoming a Graduate Gemologist at the prestigious GIA Institute.

Her literary contributions include, co-authoring the book “Vintage-Style, Buying and Wearing Classic, Vintage Clothes” in collaboration with cultural historian and journalist Ann Berman for Harper Collins in 2000. The book stands as an essential guide for women who seek to embrace vintage fashion with flair.
